This angle weeder is a handy tool for removing weeds around plants, raised beds, and tight garden spaces. The first thing I noticed was how sharp the blade is-it cuts Sharp, Comfortable Weeder That Makes Garden Cleanup Easier into soil and slices through small weeds and roots much easier than expected, making weeding less time-consuming. The angled design helps reach awkward spots and gives better control while working close to vegetables or flowers without disturbing nearby plants. It works especially well for loosening soil surface weeds and getting around stems. The red comfort grip is another nice feature. The handle feels comfortable in the hand and provides a secure grip during longer gardening sessions, reducing some of the strain that comes with repetitive weeding. The tool feels sturdy overall and not flimsy, which is important for something used repeatedly in compacted soil or garden beds. Important to know: because the blade is genuinely sharp, extra care is needed during use and storage, especially around children or when tossing tools into a gardening tote. This is a simple but effective gardening tool that makes routine weeding faster, easier, and more precise.
I have used this angle weeder a few times now. I will admit, I am still not entirely sure what the "proper" technique is supposed to be. That said, even using my own trial-and-error approach, it did the hard work of dislodging and yanking out unwanted weeds in mulched areas and along the edges of the pool and patio. The curved edge works well for sweeping motions across larger areas, while the tip is useful for cleaning out corners, edges, and grabbing stubborn growth. Where this tool truly impressed me was in my mulched garden beds. Sweeping it just under the mulch surface pulled weeds up cleanly while also breaking up and refreshing the mulch. It tackled the job quickly and easily. I also appreciate the reach it offers, which makes it easier to get under bushes and into low areas where I would rather not stick my gloved hands in. By far, the most satisfying use has been clearing weeds from patio corners and pool steps where they grow in tight cracks and seams. I still struggled, however, with deeply rooted weeds growing between concrete sections in the driveway and sidewalk. In many cases, the blade was simply too thick to fit into very narrow cracks. If the tip were more tapered, it would likely perform better in that specific situation. The construction of the **Garden Works Angle Weeder** is excellent. This is a solid, well made hand tool, and you can feel the quality the moment you pick it up. It has a satisfying weight without being heavy. The curved blade is thick and sturdy and does not feel like it would bend easily. The teeth edges are sharp enough to grab and uproot weeds, but not knife sharp. The curved edge is designed to catch and drag weeds out by the root rather than slice them. The grip is comfortable and well sized. My biggest criticism is the lack of guidance for first-time users. The tool does not come with instructions, and some indication of intended technique would be helpful. That said, I was still able to use it effectively, and there may not be a truly "wrong" way to use it as long as the tool is used safely and as intended. A little guidance would simply shorten the learning curve. Beyond that, this is a seriously well built tool that feels meant for hard work in the garden for years to come.
This is the best weeding tool I have ever used. This makes fast work of weeding. This tool is not too heavy to use for long periods. The serrated edge can saw through small roots and branches. This is a durable tool and a great value. This is a must-have tool for the garden and yard.
Ready to use, no assembly required. Quality sharp blade and ergonomic handle (right handed). It isn't overly heavy where you would fatigue from using but is a solid weight and durable. The forked end works great to get down to the thick root of what we affectionately call "pokies" in our yard. Anything to help me get the thistles out of our yard, not give me blisters, and doesn't snap in half in our tough clay soil is an awesome tool. Well done!
It took a minute to figure out how to use this, I've always just pulled weeds out with my hands. I do wish it came with a short guide or video, but I found a couple of videos online that were simple enough. Once I started using it, it really did help with the weeds in my flower garden. I like the hook on top, makes it easier to pull on the stubborn ones. It seems sturdy enough so far. I kind of did it really wrong before looking up the video (started almost digging a bit and then tried hacking at a stubborn weed) maybe a little too aggressively, but it didnt break, even when I thought it could.
The old fashioned split fork weeders work well enough for goat heads and dandelions, but this really shines for live oak saplings and other deeply embedded problems. The handle fits your hand and gives you good control, and the sharp edges slice through roots when you can't pull them out by force. It's not flimsy, it's heavy and durable and doesn't bend.
Great tool that should last for a lifetime. I like these tools that look like...50 years from now...my kids might find it in the garage after a lifetime of hard use...and take it home to use in their garden after I'm gone. It's that well made. You get what you pay for ...and, even though this might seem a little pricey...it's built to last and is really effective for weeding....sharp and strong. I'm a fan of this tool!
Like a lot of folks, we have large bushes and hedges with branches so close to the ground that they have to be weeded by hand. Traditional weeding tools aren't very good for this so I was interested when Garden Works Angle Weeder was offered through Amazon Vine. On delivery, I was impressed by the tool's design and quality. It is quite comfortable in the hand, and the serrated, scythe-shaped blade is sharp without being potentially dangerous. I also like the split end which can be used to remove long-rooted weeds, like dandelions. The Angle Weeder is light and simple to use, easily and quickly cleaning weeds out of hard to reach areas, like our hedges. Overall, the Garden Works Angle Weeder performs as advertised and has a permanent place in our gardening tool shed. So why four stars instead of five? Frankly, it's the Angle Weeder's price which is 2X-3X more than other weeding tools. Is it a good tool? Yes. Is it 2-3 times better than other tools? For me, the jury is still out.
10/18/25 - The review is for the Garden Works Angle Weeder. I have a lot of different weeders. This one look so different than all the rest because it is a scythe weeder. Most of the weeders are for digging (Hori, screw driver prong, narrow shovel with prong tip, etc) with the motion to stab and dig. Often, my digging weeders will deform because of the hardness/dryness of the soil which bends the shovel. The other standing stick with the stab/stomp and pull weeder will break if the soil is dry. This tool is different. It's a stab and pull motion. The scythe will catch the root and pull it out which is so much smoother because the entry and the exit of that soil are in the same place and not creating a different surface like digging. The blade is thicker than my other weeder because it doesn't need to make that scoop shape. When I feel the plastic grippy handle with the weight of the tool, this feels like a high-quality tool. The function and the motion to pull the weeds is very comfortable because I'm not digging the soil but instead pulling the weeds which most of that force/work has been done when it was initially stabbed into the ground. For $29.99, which is a little expensive, it's the best weeder I own.
